The farm milks 180 cows through a 20 a side herringbone cowshed. The Farm Assistant will work in a team alongside the Farm Manager.
This a permanent role based on a roster of 11 on 3 off from 1st July to 31st December and 10 on 4 off from 1st January to 30th June.
Duties will include assisting with day-to-day farming operations including milking and shed hygiene, animal management and welfare, tractor and machinery operation, repairs and maintenance and farm appearance.
We are looking for someone who has good animal husbandry and a passion for working with animals, proven experience contributing to a team environment, a commitment to workplace Health and Safety, a strong work ethic and is physically fit and healthy, a current, clean full driver's licence 2+ years' experience in a Farm Assistant role is preferred however, we also invite applications from those looking to enter a career in dairy farming that can bring the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
