Our client seeks a passionate and experienced Consultant Physician with a Rheumatology subspecialty to join a dedicated medical team in Taranaki, New Zealand. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of the community, embrace the pro-equity culture, and immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural landscapes of Taranaki.The role consists of participation in the acute ward roster (General Medicine) and Rheumatology subspecialty clinics. The roster is a 50% split (3 weeks on 3 weeks off) between General Medicine and Rheumatology (negotiable). Outpatient Rheumatology clinics are supported by two Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialists.The role also involves providing advice to general physicians, GP’s, Surgeons. Emergency Medicine Physicians and where required, providing inpatient consultation. The General Medicine inpatient work includes on call responsibilities as per a rotating roster.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

FRACP with full Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) OR Equivalent specialist qualifications from recognized medical boards (e.g., FRACP, MRCP/FRCP and CCT, FRCPI and CCT, FRCPC, American Board Certification)
Eligibility for Provisional Vocational (long term) registration or Locum Tenens (short term up to 12 months) registration in New Zealand
Expertise in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology
Experience in providing advice to general physicians, GP's, Surgeons, and Emergency Medicine Physicians
Demonstrated ability to support patients through their healthcare journey
Proven track record of working in a diverse and inclusive healthcare environment
Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical training

REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS

Salary paid in accordance with national framework, BASIC 40 HOUR WEEK NZD 190000-270000 PA
On call and extra hours allowances
