We provide indoor and outdoor sport, recreation and play opportunities, protect and enhance our natural environment and work in partnership with our sporting, recreation and environmental communities to contribute to Wellington's reputation as an active, healthy and attractive place to live, work, play and visit.The Parks Operations team provide a critical customer facing support service, ensuring the city's residents and visitors enjoy a well managed and maintained environment. Collectively providing professional expertise and quality service - making a safe, clean, useable environment for our communities. The Sports fields team play a pivotal role to much of this mahi, achieving high quality playing surfaces, providing healthy and positive experiences for our community.We are now looking for a Customer Liaison Officer to join this enthusiastic team. The Customer Liaison Officer will be responsible for the management and engagement of all relationships with key Sportsfields customers and stakeholders.The role coordinates all activities pertaining to key sporting and local community and/or international events on Sportsfields. This role works closely with elite level sport, club level sport and community groups to ensure effective allocation and usage of Sportsfields. The role also works alongside the PSR & Council teams to assist in the efficient management of the PSR lease/license portfolio and open spaces that aligns with the user groups.Ngā tohu me ngā wheako | Qualifications and experienceTo be successful in this role, prior experience engaging with the wide range of customers (particularly in the sports/club sector) would be advantageous along with strong people skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnerships.You will also have strong demonstrable knowledge of and experience in:
  • Experience in delivering successful projects i.e., demonstrated knowledge of the principals, methods, and techniques necessary for the effective management of projects from initiation through to implementation.
  • Excellence written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated staff management experience
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Project management skills
  • Prior experience with Excel and Microsoft suite
  • Event management
  • Working with leases and contracts
  • Negotiation and problem solving skills
