He angitūtanga: The opportunityHere at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of get Auckland the most active city in the world. And right now, we're looking for Learn to Swim Instructors to join our Pool and Leisure Centres teams across Auckland to help achieve that goal!This is a fantastic job where you don't need any formal qualifications or experience to apply - just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference! We'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role.Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

Teaching people the basic principles of how to swim (we'll teach you how to do this!)
Maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors
Being part of an amazing team serving your local community

We have a 6-hour permanent opportunity available at our centres, with the possibility of picking up additional shifts. Our ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work one weekend shift and one weekday shift with availability between:

Weekdays: 14:30 - 18:45
Saturday: 8.45 - 14:00

He kōrero mōu: About youYou will be a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and be able to communicate well with members of the public.You don't need any formal qualifications or experience. If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that'd be fantastic. Pay rate: $26 per hour
