Te Ara Pakeke (Adult Residential Services) supports people who experience mental distress and need assistance in their recovery journey. We provide a homely and supportive living environment with professional care and monitoring of the general health and wellbeing of our tāngata, by ensuring their core personal and mental health needs are met. Our focus is on holistic wellbeing and promoting the citizenship of our tāngata.We are looking for a Part-time Support Worker for the following shifts:
  • 0.8 FTE = 4 shifts per week (Friday to Monday)
  • AM shifts only (7:00am-3:30pm)
Mō Te Tūnga |About The roleIn this role you will be:
  • Working with tāngata to identify goals using the Recovery Outcome Star.
  • Providing encouragement and day to day support in alignment with tāngata recovery goals to achieve their goals of everyday living.
  • Assisting tāngata to achieve the activities of everyday living with hands on help where required.
  • Supporting plans including Risk Management Plans and Safety Plans.
  • Managing and administering medication as required (certified staff only).
  • Participating in the planning and review process.
  • Monitoring levels of wellbeing and ensuring that any concerns/incidents or accidents are reported and documented accurately.
  • Celebrating the successes of people achieving their recovery and wellbeing.
  • Ensuring an integrated approach by working closely with colleagues, community providers, clinical teams and other external teams to encourage community participation.
Mōu | About youWe would like you to have the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with tāngata and colleagues. You will be a skilled Support Worker who can support tāngata in a culturally safe way.In this role we want you to:
  • You have a compassionate and caring nature with good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • A National Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (level 4) or equivalent or working towards it.
  • A willingness to commit to and support the bicultural journey that Stepping Stone Trust is on as we live out our partnership under Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
  • Focus on the recovery of our service users by ensuring that their needs are met.
  • The skills to engage and motivate people in a wide range of situations to achieve quality outcomes.
  • A knowledge of Recovery Star and goal setting methodology is desirable.
  • A certain degree of computer literacy.
  • A full, clean driver's licence.
  • Assist with meal preparation and housework.
