Our multi-disciplinary teams work together to drive positive change to improve healthcare outcomes for our communitiesDiscover a Learning and Disability Nursing career in New Zealand:The Intellectual Disability Forensic Service is based out of Wellington, New Zealand. It has adult, youth and community services and is part of the Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS).Our Model of Care incorporates all the features of current best practices within forensic secure services including Positive Behaviour Support, nuanced risk assessment, and psychological formulation. All staff receive training on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) as this is the basis for our philosophy of care within the service.Working for the service, you'll receive the standard entitlements given to workers in New Zealand, including 10 days of sick leave per year, and four weeks of annual leave per week.To be able to work as a nurse in Aotearoa New Zealand you must become registered to practice with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and hold an Annual Practising Certificate. Internationally qualified nurses who meet the Nursing Council of New Zealand standards may apply to become registered to practise in New Zealand.Who we are at Health New Zealand:Health New Zealand is the Government organisation that provides publicly-funded universal health care to 5 million Kiwis.
