We currently have casual opportunities available working in Timaru and surrounding regions experienced Dental Therapist / Oral Health Therapists (DT / OHT) who hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC). Working as a locum is a great way to experience another part of the country while using your skills to support the children in our care!Timaru is an easy place to live (even if for short stints), family friendly and with easy access to an astounding array of outdoor activities - beaches, ski fields, lakes and mountains. When it comes to public amenities you are spoiled for choice with some first-rate cafes/restaurants, arts, tennis, aquatic, sporting venues all within the town boundary. Nothing is far away, traffic jams are basically unheard of!Mō te tūnga | About the RoleAs an experienced practitioner, you will be providing dental therapy to our tamariki / children and working with their whānau/ family.You'll be working from different community facilities including clinics and dental vans. You need to be a reflective practitioner who embraces innovation and advances in clinical practice and enjoy working in a team alongside other skilled OHTs / DTs and Dental Assistants. Some travel within the area may be required.We are looking for a minimum commitment of one month per session. Waitaha / Canterbury will cover travel and accommodation requirements, in negotiation with successful applicants.Ko wai koe | About You
  • Committed to providing high quality oral health care appropriate to the physical, social and cultural needs of pre-school and school age children
  • Participate in team meetings, in-service training and quality improvements as required
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
  • Registration with the NZ Dental Council and current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Recent clinical experience as a Therapist working with tamariki /children
  • Current full driver's licence
  • Ability to communicate across our multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates a drive and energy to problem solve
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft packages, with an understanding of Titanium preferred
