The OrganisationTe Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.Location: Palmerston NorthThe details: Permanent working 40 Hours per week (FTE) of which 16 hours (0.4FTE) comprises of Clinical Coordinator responsibilities as outlined in the position description with the remainder 24 hours (0.6FTE) as a Clinical Dietitian.The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the Clinical Coordinator Clinical Dietetics role at Te Whatu Ora MidCentral.The Clinical Coordinator Clinical Dietetics provides operational leadership to the Clinical Dietetic Service, including day to day operational management, annual planning, supervision, modelling best practice and supporting staff in the clinical setting.The role works collaboratively with the Professional Leader Clinical Dietetics, other Clinical Coordinators and Clusters Leadership to ensure collaboration and integrated services are provided for our population accessing healthcare services.About youRequired skills & experience you will need to be considered for the Clinical Coordinator role:
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics or Master of Dietetics degree; or Master of Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) degree, or Master of Health Sciences in Nutrition and Dietetics; as recognised by the NZ Dietitians Registration Board.
  • NZ Registered Dietitian with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • NZRD APC endorsed with Dietitian Prescriber.
  • At least 5 years relevant clinical experience across a variety of specialty areas of clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of health, disability and illness issues for individual clients.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills and able to relate well with people of all ages and background.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and enthusiasm.
  • Empowering approach to others and a good team player.
  • Proven record of reliability and punctuality.
  • Commitment to ongoing self-development.
  • Current full driver's licence.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Meets the statutory and organisational requirements for working with children, as per the Children's Act 2014 and MidCentral District Health Board policy, including a satisfactory police check and other safety checking processes.
Desirable attributes for the Clinical Coordinator role:
  • Working knowledge and application of Microsoft office including excel.
  • Experience in statistical collection and reporting.
  • Budget knowledge and application.
  • Membership with Dietitians NZ and Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
  • Membership with specialist organisations eg Diabetes NZSSD, Paediatric Society, ASCIA, AUSPEN, ESPEN
