Job Description MUST BE ELIGEBLE TO WORK IN NEW ZEALAND hold a work visa or be a NZ resident.We are looking for a motivated dairy assistant to take on the role at a 340 cow farm.The 85ha farm is based in Opiki Palmerston North with a 25 aside herringbone there is also a run off in Foxton that you will be able to assist on.
The right applicant will have at least 1 years experience and will be able to;

Milk, set up shed and wash down
Do temporary fences,
Drive atvs, 2 wheelers and tractors with implements (training can be supplied)
Able to detect mastitis and sick cows.
Assist with calving and mating

This is the perfect opportunity for someone wanting to excel in the dairy industry as there could be room to grow in the coming years. On farm training will be supplied but you can't beat an enthusiastic person with initiative who is willing to give anything a go. You will be working alongside the contract milker, and a relief. The contract milker will be mostly based on this farm but is overseeing another contract so you will need to be confident and capable enough to be sole charge occasionally.
The ideal applicant will;
- have great communication skills,
-honest, reliable and willing to learn
- able to pass drug test and have a clean police record
-hold a current nz drivers license
-Gentle on stockRoster will be 11 and 3 then go 5 and 2 after mating has settled.
