Job Title: Neurophysiology TechnicianWhere you’ll be working: Neurology Allied Personnel, Waikato HospitalThe details: Permanent Part time 56 hours per fortnight (0.7 FTE)An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent part-time clinical physiologist to join the Neurophysiology Service at Waikato Hospital.Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityThe successful candidate could be a trainee, recent graduate, or seasoned professional, responsible for administering EEGs and Nerve Conduction Studies. If you possess relevant experience in this area and are eager to join a supportive and welcoming team, this opportunity awaits you.Key responsibilities of the role:
  • Perform a wide range of quality diagnostic testing in both EEG studies and Nerve Conduction Studies.
  • Maintain competency in EEGs and NCS and actively participate in continuing Professional Development and Peer Reviews.
  • Provide a technical report for EEGs and NCS.
  • Ensure that all Neurology testing equipment throughout the organisation is well maintained and in optimum working order.
  • Ensure laboratory quality system documents are developed and updated.
  • Responsible for EEG/Neurophysiology testing, having regard for patient’s welfare and safety.

  • Relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
  • Bachelor of Science of Medical Technology or equivalent e.g. Higher National Diploma.
  • Suitable background to train as a Neurophysiology Technician.
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with Clinician Physiologist Registration Board (CPRB) and hold an Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Member or eligible to become a member of NZSNT (New Zealand Society of Neurology Technologists).
