Stormwater Renewals Project Engineer

- Develop project proposals, including cost estimates, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate and manage the execution of renewal projects, including procurement, contractor selection, and construction supervision.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful completion.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to gather input, address concerns, and ensure alignment throughout the renewal process.
- Communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders through meetings, presentations, and reports.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate successful project implementation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards in stormwater management projects.
- Develop and implement HSQE programs, conducting risk assessments, monitoring safety and environmental performance, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Be able to work shift work where required.
- Including day/night shifts
- Be on call 24/7 for their respective project.
- Identify potential safety hazards and risks associated with stormwater infrastructure construction, maintenance, and operation.
- Establish safety procedures, guidelines, and best practices to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Implement appropriate safety measures and safeguards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of stormwater project sites.
- Identify safety deficiencies, non-compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Address safety findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct inspections and assessments of culverts to evaluate their condition, identify deficiencies, and ensure their structural integrity.
- This involves visual inspections, data collection, documentation, and the development of recommendations for maintenance, repair, or renewal.
- Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:
- Tertiary qualification with NZCE or Bachelor of Engineering.
- 3+ years relevant experience in road network operations and maintenance.
- Ability to work; Day and Night Shift(s) as per job requirements (Sun-Thurs Night)
- Physically able for site work and inspections.
- Full NZ Class 1 Drivers licence.

- Computer and IT skills such as excel, pdf mark up, word and project.
