Patrol designated roads and conduct routine and emergency maintenance all over Waikato, ensuring the safety and well-being of the public.
- Identify any safety or significant faults and repair them on the network.
- Patrol and inspect the various roading assets.
- Responding to customer requests.
- Pothole repairs of both sealed and unsealed roads.
- Clearing of vegetation and litter collection.
- Clearing obstructions from carriageway, footpaths, and drainage systems
- Cleaning and maintaining culvert inlets and outlets.
- After hours emergency response
You will have a can-do attitude and a willingness to get stuck into whatever task may be at hand. You will also:
- Hold a New Zealand Class 1 Drivers Licence. (Class 2 advantage)
- Experience in a range of road maintenance activities
- Be able to identify and rate faults.
- Show good initiative and be confident in decision making and problem solving.
- Have an organised and systematic approach to completing work, able to work in a small crew.
- Confident communicating with the public and management.
- Strong planning skills including good verbal and written communication skills.
