Have a look at our other great benefitsTe kowhiringa | The OpportunityThe Downer team in Dannevirke are currently looking for a patrolperson to join their team.The Patrolperson is responsible for undertaking programmed inspection of local road, carrying out routine and emergency maintenance for the safety of the public.This role will be required to do pothole repairs, edge marker post replacement, roadside rubbish collection, recording sealed pavement faults. You will be responsible for identifying and recording defects found out in the field using Pocket RAMM software on a PDA (Handheld Personal Digital Assistant) so a level of computer literacy is required.Day to day may consist of the below:
Callouts - Emergency Response
Wire Rope and Barrier Repairs
Pothole repairs
Sign maintenance and repairs
Clearing of vegetation and litter collection
Clearing obstructions from carriageway, footpaths, and drainage systems
Cleaning and maintaining culvert inlets and outlets as well as roadside furniture
Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills
Must be available for on call for incidents/emergencies
Must have STMS Level 2/3 NP
Qualified in the identification and rating of road faults
Basic computer and phone literacy
Must be able to work unsupervised, must have initiative and good decision making skills
Minimum class 2 license required
Preferable to have several years' experience in road maintenance
