You can learn moreMo te tunga | The RoleWorking at Ashburton Hospital will provide you with invaluable experience in rural medicine. Here you will have exposure to a broad range of patients and conditions and be involved in the full patient journey from assessment to discharge. You will be working across acute and inpatient spaces and will form strong ties to community and primary care providers.Training is at the forefront of this position. The Hospital is home to the Rural Health Academic centre and here you will find a dedicated simulation centre containing High Fidelity Simulation mannequins (Adult, child, baby). A number of our Rural Health Medical Specialists (RHMS) hold University appointments and are certified APLS and/or EMST instructors. Our RHMS' are happy to be guided by your learning needs and stage of training in their supervision practice allowing increasing autonomy in patient management for those nearing the end of their training progrmme.Ko wai koe | About YouDo you enjoy rural health innovation, research and training? 3 - 12 month runs available. We would be flexible with the length of contract and can offer ongoing employment within Waitaha Canterbury.
Knowledge and commitment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.
A willingness to grow and further develop an equity lens and skillset, both to assist Māori and minority groups.
