We're looking for an experienced cloud and infrastructure engineer to lead the management and evolution of our virtualisation, storage, and backup platforms. You'll be instrumental in delivering scalable, secure systems, driving automation initiatives, mentoring team members, and supporting end-to-end project execution.Key Responsibilities:
- Own the platform - Design, manage, and maintain VMware/Hyper-V clusters, SAN/NAS storage, and backup/DR systems
- Lead upgrades - Deliver projects that modernise infrastructure, reduce risk, and improve performance and capacity
- Be the escalation point - Resolve complex incidents (L3/L4), identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions
- Deliver key projects - Lead cloud and systems projects from planning through to deployment, working closely with internal and customer teams
- Automate processes - Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation scripts to remove manual effort and drive consistency
- Mentor and lead - Guide junior engineers, share knowledge, and promote best practices and innovation
- 7+ years designing, deploying, and managing virtualised and cloud infrastructure in enterprise or service provider environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), storage platforms, networking fundamentals, backup/DR, and cloud architecture
- Solid scripting and IaC experience (e.g., PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions)
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and a customer-focused mindset
- AWS cloud platform experience
- Linux system administration
- Bash scripting skills
- VMware VCP, Azure certifications, Fortinet NSE, or ITIL
