Key Accountabilities
  • Anticipates and attend to the guest’s needs and desires immediately.
  • Ensures that all floors/storage areas have a good supply of linen.
  • Collects all soiled linen and rubbish bags from all working floors and transfers to correct area.
  • Collects and places dirty linen in the proper area in preparation of laundry pick up.
  • Collects all guest laundry and dry cleaning, ensuring that all room numbers are clearly marked.
  • Ensures all service areas are fully stocked, clean and tidy.
  • Checks that rollaway beds and cots are in useable condition and well maintained.
  • Stores rollaway beds, cots and bed boards in a tidy and accessible manner.
  • Cleans public areas as requested.
  • Cleans air conditioning vents and filters in rooms on a regular basis.
  • Turns all mattresses regularly.
  • Reports to the Supervisor any maintenance needing attention.
  • Follows all Housekeeping policies and procedures to the standard set by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Takes extreme care with personal grooming in order to maintain a consistently high level of professional appearance.
  • Informs Housekeeping Office IMMEDIATELY of any unusual, different or abnormal situations seen in or around the Hotel.
  • Reports any potential health and safety hazards to the Supervisor.
  • Greets Hotel guests in a polite and courteous manner being careful not to confuse friendliness with familiarity.
  • Attends monthly departmental communication, training and information meetings.
  • Complies with all of the Hotel’s standard operational policies and procedures as outlined in the Team Handbook.
  • Has a full knowledge of, and practices all of the Hotel’s established workplace health and safety guidelines (WH&S).
  • Gives assistance to other departments or outlets when required.
  • Carries out other duties as directed by the Executive Housekeeper/Housekeeping Supervisors.
