  • Supporting customers with local and family history research-both in person and remotely.
  • Developing and delivering engaging programmes that promote our heritage collections.
  • Collaborating with a passionate team to provide exceptional service and experiences.
  • Caring for the Tuakiri collection to ensure it remains a vibrant, accessible resource for all.
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei
  • A strong understanding of New Zealand history and heritage resources.
  • Excellent research skills and a passion for connecting people with their stories.
  • Cultural responsiveness and a commitment to biculturalism and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A relevant Level 5 qualification and at least 4 years of library experience (a postgraduate qualification in NZ history is a bonus!).

  • Hours of work - Wednesday 9am - 4pm (6.5 hours) Thursday 9.30am - 6pm (7.5 hours) Friday 12pm - 8pm (7.5 hours) Saturday 10.15am - 5.15pm (6.5 hours)
  • Position -Permanent part-time, 28 hours per week
  • Location - This position is primarily based Tūranga, 60 Cathedral Square, Christchurch
  • Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $35.77 to $39.74 per hour. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
  • Closing Date - Monday 8th September
