- Provide leadership to the PT Network Development Team and contribute to the wider leadership of the PT Service Planning & Development Group.
- Coordinating AT Departments, industry, service suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Leadership of medium-term public transport network design and planning at a regional and national level.
- Overseeing an advisory role towards key industry projects and development proposals that shape Auckland's growth into the future.
- Supporting business cases and funding applications for future network expansion
- Lead and direct the team in the setting of PT objectives, outcomes and targets for the Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP) and associated plans.
- Ownership of ten year PT network planning as part of RPTP, including bus, train, ferry and shared mobility.
- Leading governance meetings associated with development of the PT network
- Support public and stakeholder consultation on strategic network design.
- Managing allocated budget in accordance with organisational policies and
- A tertiary degree qualification in a relevant discipline, such as urban or land use planning, transport economics, engineering, or related areas.
- 10 years' experience working within Public Transport, including 5 years' experience in the strategic planning of public transport, transport and/or travel solutions
- 7 years' experience in team leadership in a political or complex organisation.
- Understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government.
- Thorough knowledge of public transport network theory & principles.
- Good knowledge of the New Zealand transport and local authority legislative and regulatory framework.
- Driven to achieve outcomes, delegates effectively and empowers others.
- Highly organised. Plans and prioritises well and manages time to focus self and others
- Personal resilience. Able to sustain a high level of energy and positivity during pressure.
- Good knowledge of emerging trends in public transport innovation.
