- Deliver the brand story through tutored tasting and tours
- Maintain a professional work environment including site cleanliness, uniform and appearance.
- Complete all training as required to fulfil the requirements of liquor licensing, wine education and to conduct a tutored wine tasting and tour.
- Assist in giving ongoing training to team members in line with the skills matrix
- Feedback all customer service communication ensuring processes and standards are maintained.
- Support team development through on the job training of tasting and experience module.
- Assists customers in finding products, making selections and purchasing items.
- Maintains a favourable working relationship with all Vinarchy employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness
- Site security – ensure the building is left secure when unattended.
- Report customer feedback to the Brand Homes Manager to ensure procedure and processes are adhered to and modified where appropriate.
- Manage and action Cellar Door and Experience Email inboxes
- Contribute to all staff meetings.
- Manage experience and tasting bookings systems
- Strive to achieve daily, weekly & monthly sales objectives
- Strive to achieve weekly and monthly wine club acquisition targets
- Manage daily staff levels to business requirements
- Bring innovative ideas to drive overall business to the cellar door
- Assist with stock control and daily reconciliations, manage stock ordering
- Assist with wine library management / develop monthly CD back vintage promotions
- Manage third party wine orders
- Adhere to company QSE (Quality, Safety, Environment) policies and procedures, including responsible service of alcohol and workplace safety.
- Actively participate in training, CSR activities, and report any risks or concerns related to safety, product integrity or compliance.
- Behaving in a manner that does not put the safety and integrity of you, others, the environment or the company at risk.
- Treating all people with respect and in accordance with the company’s policies
- Previous Restaurant, Hotel or Cellar Door supervisor experience
- Previous wine retail experience
- An appreciation and understanding of wine and wine styles
- Proven high standard of customer service skills, eye for details
- Prepared to work a seven-day roster
- Ability to present to groups up to fifty guests (public speaking)
- Ability to work competently under pressure

- The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring bending, crouching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as wine cartons and merchandise boxes. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as lifting up to 12kg
- Current liquor licence
- Liquor industry experience
- Wine/product knowledge
- Booking / POS system experience
- WSET 2 or above / Sommelier equivalent
- Hawkes Bay & NZ wine knowledge
- First aider
- Forklift license
