Supporting our security team in keeping the hospital, its staff, patients, and visitors safe

This is a healthcare role, and the safety, wellbeing and security of our patients and staff is our top priority.Our security services play a key role in keeping people and we have an opportunity for an experienced security professional to step into the role of Security Supervisor for Southland.Mō te tūranga | About the roleOur security team are the people that keep the hospital safe.Our primay role is 'Healthcare' - Looking after our patients.Secondary to that is 'Security' - Keeping everyone safe.As the Supervisor, you'll be responsible for a team of people that look after our patients, our visitors, and our staff. You'll carry out routine patrols, write reports, diffuse tense situations, and mentor the team. You'll be a peacemaker, a confidentcommunicator and display kindness and helpfulness in everything you do. You will need to be non-judgemental, and have a good level of physical fitness.Mōu ake | About youOur ideal candidate will have:

National Certificate in Secruity Level 3
Great communication skills and the ability to de-esculate volatile situations
Previous supervisory experience would be a plus, but isn't a deal breaker
Previous experience in a healthcare environment would be a big help
Most importantly, a positive can-do attitude
