We welcome one and all to join us at the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.Mō tēnei tūranga | About the roleAs Senior Business Analyst, you will take full responsibility for business analysis, working on a range of work from continuous improvement to large projects and programmes in the Assessment Division of NZQA. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, and the needs of ākonga, students, schools and kura, and help shape future ways of working.You'll be proficient in applying enterprise business analysis methods and technical tools to create clear scopes, business cases, processes and reporting that support change, and you will champion the contribution of technology to meet business objectives.Key responsibilities

Lead business analysis across continuous improvement, and project and programme sized change.
Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts
Use tools like JIRA, Visio, and Power BI to support delivery
Apply critical thinking to identify opportunities and shape solutions
Facilitate workshops, co-design sessions, and stakeholder engagement
Align work with organisational strategy and future-state goals
Support capability building and contribute to a collaborative team culture

Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga | What you'll bring to the role:

5-10 years years' experience in business analysis
Strong facilitation and relationship management skills
Proficiency in business case development, process improvement, and solution design
Experience with structured methodologies (e.g., BPMN, Lean, Agile)
Commitment to equitable outcomes and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Knowledge of te ao Māori is an advantage
