This is an exciting opportunity to apply for a permanent position in a stunning area of New Zealand with a Mediterranean climate and culture. The local health sector is undergoing innovative expansion and modification with new public and private imaging facilities under construction. You will be part of a collaborative collegial team of up to eleven specialist radiologists providing expert diagnostic radiology services. The team is part of the regional training programme with currently one registrar.There are many opportunities to develop subspecialist interests that will complement the department’s current service, and there are close regional ties with other imaging departments, other specialities, as well as regional and tertiary services to provide a comprehensive package of care.Role Responsibilities
  • To provide a high standard of clinical practice and clinical expertise and effective radiology services to the community and region served by the Organisation. Radiology services include general CT, MRI and Ultrasound.
  • You will join an established team of radiologists which provide a general diagnostic and interventional radiology service.
  • You will be involved with the education and supervision of junior radiologists as they prepare for the FRANZCR exams.
  • To provide advice to Manager, Medical Imaging, on radiology management matters and professional standards of practice.
Requirements
  • you must be eligible for vocational registration in Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • FRANZCR or equivalent specialist qualification in diagnostic radiology
  • Demonstrated clinical, management, and teaching skills
  • The ability to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.
