Our casual roles cover leave for permanent Support Workers in Christchurch, providing you with the opportunity to gain valuable experience across a range of our services (community mobile, respite, residential and recovery). As a casual, the hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available, so if you're looking for a role with flexibility then we'd love to hear from you.The shifts are 7am - 3.30pm, 3pm - 11.30pm and 11pm - 7.30am, and we operate 7 days a week. Our casuals should be available to pick up any of these shifts, and in particular we're looking for candidates who can work the PM shifts 3.00pm-11.30pm and awake nights 11.00pm -7.30am.This role will always have variety, and it could include things like:
- Goal setting and building confidence
- Securing a job or finding a place to live
- Supporting people with budgeting and independent daily living skills
- Attending appointments and advocating for people
- Assisting people to connect with their communities
- Medication support where required
- Supporting whai ora with their daily routine
- Maintaining the house
- Supporting people to manage their distress
- Be prepared to do whatever it takes - cleaning, cooking, gardening or helping with everyday tasks
Criteria:
- It is essential that applicants applying for this role should be prepared to work all shifts (AM, PM, and awake nights) when required on any day of the week and across all services.
- You need the right to work in New Zealand
- Its preferred you hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or an equivalent qualification. - You need to be prepared to complete the comprehensive first aid Certificate
- You need a full drivers licence
