Sysmex NZ operates as a subsidiary of Sysmex Corporation, a Japan-based company listed on the Japanese stock exchange, with over 73 offices and 10,000 staff worldwide.About the roleBased in Auckland and working among other curious, passionate and technically-gifted people, the Technical Team is responsible for delivering a range of technical solutions to our hospital, laboratory, and private practice Digital Health customers worldwide; from interfacing analysers and instruments to our software, through to debugging customer-developed rules (TCPs) and deploying our products in client labs. We also support internal systems, such as our DevOps and Azure infrastructure.Backed by strong in-house support, this role will develop your coding, customer service, and problem-solving skills, all the while challenging your practical mind and ability to learn and adapt to new puzzles and issues.Because our products serve specialist needs, a lab or medical background with the ability to understand how our products work for our customers and a tenacious attitude to learning is more important than applying with the best IT skills.Because your contribution will be pivotal to our ongoing success, we are looking for you to be enthusiastic about your work and thrive in a high-performing environment focused on building a healthier tomorrow.What you'll bring to the roleEssentials

Years of experience in scientific or medical laboratory/healthcare settings, or working with medical hardware/information systems in a technical capacity
Fluency with using computers in general, and comfort with the command-line
Some basic understanding or experience with writing/editing programs or scripts
Self-motivated, with a hunger to learn our range of products
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to understand and deliver complex technical concepts
Strong verbal and technical writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly to customers and other staff
Willingness to join the on-call roster

Preferences

Previous experience with Sysmex products: Eclair, Delphic LIS, Delphic AP, IVD products and instruments
Superuser experience
Programming or scripting experience in C/C++, C#, Python, Bash, Powershell, SQL
Degree or Diploma in relevant field or equivalent practical experience
