You will work in collaboration with a group of professionals that recognises the importance of providing quality care and services to their clients, supports and whanau.
- You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, and in collaboration with our Tangata Whaiora and their family/whanau, primary care, community supports and our inpatient teams.
- It is essential that you have the ability to think on your feet, triage and appropriately prioritise your Tangata Whaiora's needs in a timely manner.
- You will hold a caseload of Tangata Whaiora who you will proactively engage with and support to engage with their treatment and other holistic supports. Highly developed risk assessment is important as is your ability to develop effective rapport with people who may be mentally unwell or distressed.
- Assessment, development of recovery plans and liaising with whanau and other carers, NGOs, police, probation and other services is all part of the Community Mental Health Nurse role.
- Must Hold a Full Driver's Licence, current APC and have a Mental Health Nursing Scope of Practice.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
