Job Description2IC | Full-time, Permanent | 55-60 hours per week | Competitive SalaryAbout the Farm:Terrace Farm Holdings is a 272-hectare irrigated dairy farm located just 10 minutes south of Dunsandel, with excellent local schooling options nearby. The farm is fully irrigated with centre pivots and reliable water supply, ensuring strong, consistent production and a quality grass-based system.Valleyfield Pastoral Ltd is led by a progressive contract milking couple with a growth mindset and a strong focus on people. With a proven track record of developing and supporting others in the industry, they are committed to creating opportunities for their team to grow, learn and step forward in their farming careers.The Role:We are looking for an experienced 2IC to step into this key leadership role. Working closely with the Contract Milkers, you will take responsibility for:
  • Leading day-to-day herd and pasture management to optimise performance.
  • Monitoring and maintaining animal health, ensuring high standards of welfare.
  • Operating and maintaining machinery and irrigation systems.
  • Supporting and contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Taking responsibility for farm operations when the Contract Milkers are rostered off.
About You:To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  • Solid experience in pasture management and grass-based systems.
  • Strong animal health knowledge and practical herd management skills.
  • A people-focused approach, with the ability to communicate well and work as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and take on responsibility.
