The University of Canterbury is undertaking a large-scale enterprise software transformation to implement a modern and integrated ERP system that will streamline processes and enhance user experience.Āu Mahi | What You Will DoWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Instructional Designer to design and develop engaging and innovative learning solutions to support the successful implementation of the UC Workday project. You will deliver high-quality classroom and digital learning experiences that support user adoption and increase capability. In this project-based role, you'll work with the Training Manager within the Change Management team, to create effective and professional training content and learning resources for internal staff.You'll bring your background in adult learning, proven job experience and 'can do' attitude to create engaging learning solutions and performance support tools for our people.Working closely with subject matter experts, you'll design a wide variety of training content and learning resources through to delivery and evaluation. You'll also be involved in facilitating learning events as required.Mōu | Who You AreWe are looking for an experienced team player who thrives in large, complex projects. You'll have a passion for creating engaging learning solutions that drive adoption of new systems and processes. You bring the following skills and experiences:
  • Design and develop training materials including facilitated training sessions, elearning modules, simulations, quick reference guides, and video resource.
  • Experience in digital authoring tools (like Articulate, Rise, etc) to build interactive and visually appealing eLearning content.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
  • A minimum of 3 years' proven experience in a Learning Design-related role involving classroom, blended, and digital learning formats.
  • The ability to work under pressure and be adaptable to achieve deadlines within a highly dynamic project environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with project and business staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to train and guide others.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend practical solutions.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word).
  • A commitment UC's values, with te reo Māori skills an advantage.
