This is why St Kilda Care Home located in Cambridge is searching for an Activities Assistant with a creative flair to join our community. This is a permanent, part-time position working 96 hours/ 6 weeks roster period, Monday to Sunday (some weekends included).In this role, you will be supporting the Activities Coordinator, identifying the leisure activity needs of each of the St Kilda Care Home residents based on their interests, preferences, and abilities and contribute to the planning and implementation of individual and group activities programmes.Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Participate and contribute to both individual and group programme activities.
  • Contribute to the review and assessment of the residents' individual activities programme.
  • Actively promote a homely, stimulating, and pleasant environment for the residents and their families.
  • Develop and maintain excellent internal and external communication networks to support the activities programme.
About You
  • An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable.
  • Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication skills.
  • A fun personality with a creative flair.
  • A clean, full driver's licence is preferable, as you may drive the van for resident outings.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
