We live by our REAL values – Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude, Leadership – and we demonstrate these through the good work we do, every day, as one team.Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau | Welcome to our Fulton Hogan FamilyWe are seeking a motivated Leading Hand to join our Ready to Respond - RFS Team based out of our yard in Albany, Auckland.Working alongside the Foreperson, you will lead a small team through cyclic, first response maintenance work within the Auckland, North network.This small team is re-active across a 24 hour schedule working off a schedule between the two shifts. As a immediate first responder towards our network. This crew will ensure the situation is safe for the public whilst we create a plan ahead for longer programmes of work. Your efforts will play a key role in keeping our roads, footpaths, and public spaces safe and well-maintained for the community. Tasks may include kerb and channel repairs, pothole fixes, upkeep of minor barriers and road signage, and more - offering variety in your day-to-day work.In addition to the above, you’ll:
  • Monitor and work alongside your small team to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively through each maintenance job.
  • Coordinate resources, equipment and materials for planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect and asses the immediate area for safety risks and hazards to public and community.
  • Work at pace to ensure work is completed on time, whilst complying with all safety, quality and environmental requirements.
  • Complete daily reports and relevant documents
  • Maintain workspace cleanliness after servicing and ensure tools and materials are stored safely including disposal of debris and rubbish.
  • Attend to emergency call outs on a rostered basis and during standard hours of duty which can include both day and night shifts.
We’re looking for someone with:
  • Must hold a minimum Class 2 NZ Drivers Licence
  • WTR Endorsement and STMS Qualification is preferred
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in RFS or cyclic maintenance or similar
  • Be flexible to work AM and PM shifts up to 10 - 12 hours and weekends as required on rostered basis
  • Ability to read and interpret works schedules and compliance standards
  • Previous experience in a similar Leading Hand or Team Leader role is advantageous
