- A sound understanding of the intelligence cycle with practical experience in applying it to intelligence products.
- Experience in developing intelligence requirements (IRs) and a strong ability to translate intelligence requirements and analysis to provide usable insight and assessments, better informing recommendations for the aviation regulator.
- Highly adaptable working style with the ability to quickly respond to short notice taskings, responsive to developments in product scope/requirements, and change that may emerge.
- Able to confidently and effectively navigate challenges, complications, and unexpected turns which may emerge during taskings, embodying a solutions-oriented approach.
- Experience in applying Structured Analytical Techniques to critically analyse intelligence problem sets.
- Able to learn new information systems and engage with data visualisation dashboards such as Power BI.
- Confident in building and maintaining relationships with workgroups across the organisation, across government, and where applicable, with industry stakeholders.
- The ability to form sound intelligence assessments to support decision makers, to better inform the regulator and its operational workgroups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver both verbal briefings and written reports.
- Formal intelligence training such as the NZDIA, DIAC, PgCertIntel, or other courses (preferable).
- A keen interest to learn about the aviation industry, and ability to learn and understand relevant legislation such as the Civil Aviation Act 2023.
- Aviation experience would be advantageous however is not essential.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security clearance.
