Aspeq (https://www.aspeq.com) are seeking to appoint a new Company Director to their Board to help guide the strategic direction of the business as they continue to grow locally and internationally. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of technology trends and their strategic implications, and ideally some experience in the assessment, education, or qualifications sector.About UsEstablished in 1992, Aspeq originally focused on delivering pilot and aircraft engineering examinations exclusively for the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand. Over the years, their commitment to excellence in the aviation sector paved the way for our expansion into various industries, including transport, construction, health and finance. Now a trusted partner in providing comprehensive examination solutions and expertise across a wide range of sectors.Their business spans New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, partnering with regulators and other organisations across 25 countries to test and uphold a wide range of standards.About the RoleAs an Independent Director, you will play an important role in board-level oversight and strategic direction. You will contribute your expertise to ensure the organisation remains agile, future-ready, and governed in line with best practice. This role is not operational but will require a sound understanding of the opportunities and risks presented by emerging technologies and international market dynamics.We Are Looking For
  • Previous experience in a governance or senior advisory role (e.g., company director, trustee, advisory board)
  • A solid understanding of IT systems, digital trends, and technology strategy
  • Familiarity with the assessment or education sector (or adjacent regulated industries)
  • Experience with international contracts, partnerships, or markets (desirable)
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and risk awareness
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to good governance
