Kia mau, kia ita, kia ū - haumi e, hui e, tāiki e!Te Tūranga | About the roleAs a Team Leader, you will be guiding and supporting an enthusiastic and highly capable team, who are responsible for safeguarding the environment we all enjoy, and keeping an eye on all sorts of things which matter to our community through compliance monitoring and enforcement under the Resource Management Act.It's an exciting time to join the team, with work underway to look at how we make sure we are using our regulatory levers to help make a growing Tauranga better for our community. As a team leader, you'll be jumping into this conversation alongside the team, and working with the leadership team to set the direction.Key responsibilities include;
  • Provide clear leadership alongside, mentoring, coaching and individual development plans to ensure a high performing team
  • Supporting the effective and efficient prioritisation of workloads across team members
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide technical advice and support across team and wider organisation
Ngā Pukenga | What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you'll bring;
  • Tertiary level qualification and/or equivalent experience working to a senior level
  • Proven experience leading a high performing team
  • Effective communication skills, and an ability to think and plan strategically
  • Proven experience working in a regulatory environment with strong knowledge of legislative frameworks
  • A working knowledge of Resource Management Act 1991 and Local Government Act 2002
