We're seeking a Sales Estimator to join the team based in Mount Maunganui. In this role, you'll be responsible for producing accurate and commercially sound cost estimates, supporting the sales process, and helping deliver the best possible outcomes for their clients.
This is a varied position that combines estimating, technical sales support, and client interaction. You'll work closely with the Sales Director, as well as operations, production, and marketing teams, to ensure opportunities are maximised and projects are scoped with precision.What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing accurate, timely, and competitive quotes based on drawings, specs, and project documents.
- Calculating material, labour, freight, and overhead costs with attention to detail.
- Providing technical sales support and product knowledge to both clients and internal teams.
- Attending occasional site visits to confirm requirements, measurements, and conditions.
- Identifying opportunities for upselling and value engineering.
- Supporting proposals, tenders, and business development activity.
- Representing the company at client meetings, site visits, and trade events.
- Using CRM and company systems to track quotes, leads, and conversion rates.
You'll thrive in this role if you're someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge with strong commercial awareness. You'll be comfortable interpreting drawings and project documentation, and equally confident in front of clients when required.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in estimating/pricing for technical jobs (either construction, engineering, manufacturing or similar).
- Can read technical drawings and translate them into accurate costings.
- A clear and confident communicator - written, verbal, and in presentations.
- Commercially aware with a strong eye for detail.
- Organised and adaptable, able to juggle multiple deadlines.
- Collaborative by nature but capable of working independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and picking up CRM/estimating systems (Prospect experience advantageous).
- Holding a full, clean driver's licence.
Salary range: $85,000 - $105,000 base, depending on experience.
Bonus system in place following settling in period (approx. 15% of base).
Vehicle negotiable for candidates with more sales-facing elements.
Full tools provided (phone, laptop, etc.).
