| - |Our client is a high end customised solution design, manufacture, and commissioning company, specialising in mechanical, automation and robotic production machinery. They work throughout New Zealand and internationally with a global customer base providing customised solutions using the latest technology to optimise production.With growth and expansion comes the need for additional people and we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Dunedin based team.The Role
You will be responsible for leading the design of food industry machinery and automated plant projects - design through to manufacture.Specifically, you will:

Lead the mechanical design of mechanical and electrical products and componentry
Provide technical assistance to less experienced engineers
Prepare and certify technical documentation and design specifications
Collaborate across engineering, workshop, and client teams for seamless project execution
Actively contribute to continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma initiatives

To be successful in the role you will have:

A Tertiary qualified Mechanical Engineer (BE Mech or equivalent)
Proven Mechanical Design experience at a senior level, involved with mechanical and automation systems
Proven experience in materials handling/conveyor and/or food industry design
Advanced skills with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Draftsight
