He angitūtanga | The OpportunityWe're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Tupuanuku Hall of Residence in Christchurch. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality food and service to students, ensuring a clean, welcoming, and efficient dining experience. This is a Permanent, Part Time Position during education terms. You must be available to week across a 7 day week roster.Ko ō kawenga | Your Responsibilities
  • Assist with food preparation, portioning, and presentation for service.
  • Deliver friendly and professional customer service, responding to requests and feedback.
  • Maintain clean and hygienic dining and kitchen areas, including dishwashing and stock rotation.
  • Operate a cash register and follow Compass Group's point-of-sale procedures.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.

  • A team player with a flexible, can-do attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and able to work independently when needed.
  • Previous experience in a catering or hospitality environment is a plus.
  • Holds or willing to obtain a NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168).
  • Able to pass a police clearance and pre-employment checks.
