You will be joining our team of four and assisting contract milkers to look after a system 5
950 cow split calving farm 20 mins north of Whangarei in the Hikurangi/Riponui area
If you are tech-savvy, have a genuine passion for the dairy industry, and a love of animals we would love to hear from you.
We milk through a 50 bail rotary cow shed twice a day.
Cow shed has modern technology with automatic cup removers, auto teat spray, in shed computer system, in shed meal feeding system and auto drafting
We have also had the HALTER cow collar tec here for the last two years assisting with animal health monitoring, break fencing and stock movements.Our ideal applicant will have
-at least 2 years dairy farming experience as a assistant manager
- any progressing farm assistants at least 3-4 years Experience with proven track record of progression to management level
- be punctual, reliable, and have good attention to detail with great work ethic
- good communication skills
-be able to work in a team and manage staff when required through tasks
- be calm and quiet around stock. Attentive to animal health and experience correcting any animal health issues
- assisting contract milker with all daily monitoring of grass intakes, supplements use and water supplies to achieve all feed and production targets
-any experience with MINDA record keeping and Fonterra compliance would also be adventurous.
Ongoing training will be provided and extra off farm training is offered and encouraged.
Applicants must be a NZ resident, or hold a current visa and currently live in New Zealand .You must hold a current drivers license and be drug free.
