He angitūtanga | The OpportunityWe're looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our team at Tupuanuku Hall of Residence in Christchurch. You'll be responsible for preparing and presenting meals to a high standard, maintaining kitchen operations, and supporting menu development that meets diverse dietary needs. This is a Permanent Part Time position during education terms.Ko ō kawenga | Your Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present a variety of meals, ensuring portion control and quality.
  • Receive, store, and rotate kitchen supplies while maintaining stock levels and hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Support menu planning for special dietary and cultural requirements.
  • Coach and collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations.
He kōrero mōu | About You
  • Hold an NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in cooking in a similar environment.
  • Previous experience in baking would be an added advantage.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and committed to high standards of hygiene and safety.
