Our Ola Kamataga Pacific Strategy is all about supporting Pacific peoples to thrive socially, culturally, and economically.About the roleCouncil is developing and strengthening our partnerships with our Pacific community and we are seeking a Senior Advisor to join our team. In this influential role, you'll collaborate with the Manager Pacific Strategy to bring the strategy to life.This key role will support Council to deliver strong and enduring partnership relationships with Pacific community leaders, individuals and groups to achieve agreed stategic priorities.In this role you will:

Provide strategic advice across Council on Pacific priorities - including housing, children and young people, economic development, welfare, and emergency management.
Lead and support talanoa with Pacific communities, ensuring their voices and aspirations shape Council's work.
Drive key initiatives and events, such as Pacific Night Markets, Language Week flag-raisings, and Pacific business development programmes.
Build partnerships with individuals, community groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders to unlock opportunities for collaboration and investment.
Represent Council at key Pacific events and forums, collaborating with our Mayor, Councillors, and Executive Leadership team.

Experience providing strategic advice in a policy, strategy, or community engagement setting.
The ability to lead projects from planning through to delivery, while working collaboratively across teams and stakeholders.
A good understanding of Pacific cultures, values, languages, and ways of working.
Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to engage respectfully in talanoa and represent Council with mana.
