Job Category: EngineeringJob Description:Te Tūranga /About the Role:Silver Fern Farms Dargaville are looking for a motivated and skilled Services Engineer to join our engineering team who are crucial to keep our production running in a challenging, dynamic food production environment.The Services Engineer is part of the site Engineering Leadership team and required to generally work Monday to Friday with a total of 45 hours minimum a week. They are responsible for ammonia operations within the site and are considered the SME with regard to all external services relating to production capabilities. If you are interested in using your experience and skills on a large industrial food processing site, with a willingness for continuous improvement, and like the idea of working for one of New Zealand's largest food exporters, we look forward to hearing from you.Te Mahi /Key Responsibilities:The Services Engineer is responsible for day-to-day operation of the refrigeration, ammonia and water reticulation and various site services and improvements as required.Engagement and organisation of contractors and service agents as required.Undertake repairs and maintenance to plant equipment to minimise equipment failure and increasing its reliability where possible.Ensure any plant breakdowns on equipment is back to full running capacity within the shortest time, whilst always ensuring yours and others health and safety.Ensuring the smooth operation of the ammonia refrigeration, water reticulation, compressed air, hydraulic and other various site servicesEncourage a health and safety focussed culture through personal participation in H&S initiatives.Food hygiene regulations are complied with when working in areas controlled by MPI regulations.Ōu Pūkenga /About You:Previous experience in Refrigeration, and / or steam operation environments is advantageous. Having the ability to work as part of a team to ensure the stability of plant services and when required, identify faults and use analytical and problem-solving skills to provide top level of service to the area of ownership.The successful applicant will possess the following skills and attributes:Knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of refrigeration systems (Preferably Ammonia Refrigeration System but not a must and have a passion to learn). Cooling and heating equipment, such as chillers, cold rooms, cold storages, heat pumps, boilers and air compressors etc.Good knowledge of sound engineering principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site - or a passion to learn in this environment.Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you.Be self-motivated, willing to give things a go and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support.Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment and lead by example from the front.A L3 or L4 or higher qualification in refrigeration and air conditioning would be advantageous.Te Ahurea /Why work at Silver Fern Farms?Silver Fern Farms are all about Creating Goodness from the Farms the World Needs.
