This is not just a leadership role; it's a chance to make a tangible, lasting impact on New Zealand's environment and economy.You will lead the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) group, guiding its strategic and operational direction. Your expertise will shape the EPA's regulatory decisions on everything from hazardous waste to the introduction of new organisms. This is a critical role that ensures work is underpinned by sound scientific principles.Beyond managing your team, you will be a pivotal voice on the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the EPA's overall strategic direction. Your responsibilities will include shaping environmental policy, guiding the EPA's scientific direction, and fostering key relationships with government, industry, and international partners. You will also serve as a public face for the EPA, credibly representing its mission in a variety of forums.About you | Mōhou akeYour expertise matters. We're looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. or an advanced degree in a relevant scientific field. Your background should include senior leadership experience, a proven track record in regulatory decision-making and risk management, and the ability to lead high-performing teams.
