Real is the youth brand of Pathways. Real Whanganui's youth service is called Whetū Marewa (Rising Star). The aim of this service is to build the confidence, resilience, and wellbeing of taiohi, aged 12-24 years, with mental health and addiction related issues. Support combines a positive youth development approach with brief intervention. Registered health professionals and youth workers provide support in locations where young people are, such as schools and in the community with the goal to provide easy access to support for those who need it.The Benefits | Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou

In this role you will be working with a passionate and dynamic team of 2 youth workers and a Team Coach, you will work to deliver support to young people in both community and school. As a Registered Health ProfessionalSome of your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Supporting taiohi with their primary mental health in school or in the community.
- Enhancing confidence, resilience and wellbeing in the taiohi we support.
- Supporting taiohi to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives.
- Providing assessment and support using a range of evidence-based brief interventions.
We are interested to hear from candidates who have a current health registration (Occupational Therapist, Nurse or Social Worker)
- You'll come with a leadership experience and great at building team culture.
- You have ability to cope under pressure and use own initiative when required in a flexible and changing environment
- A HPCAA recognised qualification and current practicing certificate
- A current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
- A full clean NZ driver's license.
- Demonstrated experience working with young people with complex mental health and addiction needs.
