The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
You will be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways Auckland peer-led support team, this is a service that is an alternative to hospital admission and can house up to 12 tāngata whai ora, working in a team of Peer Support Specialists - all with a common purpose to support people navigating experiences with mental distress and/or addiction.This is a permanent full-time role. You will be working Sunday - Thursday, 11pm - 7:30am. Based in Papatoetoe, Auckland.What You'll Be Doing I Ngā mahi ka mahia e koe:
  • Intentionally drawing on your Lived or Living Experience to support others on their recovery journey
  • Using your Peer training and upholding Peer competencies/values
  • Supporting acute tāngata whai ora who are staying at Tupu Ake as an alternative to being in hospital on the awake night shift
  • Supporting all aspects of tāngata whai ora's recovery during their stay at respite
You | Mōu:
We would love to hear from Peers who are at a place on their wellbeing journey where they are ready to support others on their journeys.You'll also have:
  • Kia Mataara, Peer Employment Training or Intentional Peer Support Training
  • Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or intention to commence training within three months
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
