As a team, we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world's most human centered appliance brand.What this role is about…As a Chief Engineer you are responsible for developing and presenting clear and aligned project goals and direction within the Cooking team based in Dunedin.A broad role crossing multiple business units, the key interactions are with the Chief Designers and Global Product Managers, and it is through this interaction you ensure a business-wide view is considered throughout the full development process.You will facilitate and cleverly knit together the customer requirements and product development activities to ensure we roll out the right projects to the markets at the right time. Our people thrive in a hands-on environment where they can own the results of their input.To achieve in this role the key deliverables of the Chief Engineer include:

Deeply understanding and representing the view of the Customer.
Translating design briefs into project design specifications, project objectives and timelines.
Leading the definition, development, and implementation of product projects.
Balancing project and product Customer Interest trade off decisions while maintaining a high-level focus.
Achieving on time delivery of customer driven products through the effective co-ordination and integration of all internal and external interested parties.
Coordinating all activities related to the projects across the business.

We are looking for a leader – ideally you have some leadership experience but for the right person who can demonstrate raw potential we are ready to be wowed by your developing capability in this area. You lead with influence, you listen and understand challenges, and then you lead and coach others towards successful outcomes.As you will be tasked with leading projects through all stages of the development process within Product Development and across other functions of the business, you should demonstrate the ability to articulate a clear and consistent vision, convey project objectives and provide a high level of clarity about the project's direction throughout the development and implementation process.This is a key role in our business, so we’d love to see your passion for Product Development and the voice of the customer.
