As a leader here you will be kanohi kitea with our kaimahi and whānau, and seeing the impact of our mahi every day.As we continue to grow, we are seeking a visionary and grounded leader to serve as our Director - Collaboration and Partnerships, a pivotal role that nurtures and strengthens our most vital relationships at marae/grassroots level.Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this roleAs the kaitiaki of our local partnerships, you will lead engagement with iwi rūnanga, marae, hapū, and community organisations across our rohe. You'll ensure these relationships are deeply rooted in kaupapa Māori, reflect the principles of Te Tū o Ngāti Hine, and align with the aspirations of Ngāti Hine and our wider whānau.Reporting to our CE, and as a key part of our executive leadership team you will embody collective leadership across the organisation. In particular you will:
  • Serve as the primary connector between Ngāti Hine Health Trust and our wider whānau, as well as local health and social service providers, local government, and community networks.
  • Coordinate and give visibility to local relationship activity across the Trust, reducing duplication and fostering collaboration that honours tikanga.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with councils, education providers, marae committees, community organisations, and regional agencies to enable joined-up initiatives and whānau-centred support.
  • Ensure opportunities are scoped and developed in ways that reflect the voices, priorities, and needs of our communities.

In particular you will bring:
  • A demonstrable connection to Ngāti Hine along with strong competence in te reo, tikanga, and kaupapa-based leadership, including experience engaging at marae level.
  • Proven experience in relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and grass-roots collaboration.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to navigate complex systems while staying grounded in community.
  • A commitment to equity, whānau wellbeing, and the transformative potential of local partnerships.
