He angitūtanga: The opportunityAuckland Council's Group Finance division has a brand new opportunity for a Principal Finance Programme Lead (Finance Workstream Lead) to join the Financial Advisory team, reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering.In this newly created senior role you'll have the sole responsibility to lead the Finance Workstream supporting the Group Shared Services programme, by working closely with the programme team and CCO's, you'll provide timely and outcomes with regards to a shared services construct, business cases and the development and implementation of a cost recovery model across the Council group.The role is further supported by a financial modeller and process analyst.Please note this is a fixed term role until 29 August 2026You could expect to work on:

Engaging closely with the programme team and CCO's to align efforts and expectations, providing options for decision making and progressing on outcomes
Support and co-ordinate efforts as required with GMs and/or project leads/programme
Lead the development and implementation of the cost recovery model, coordinate with different teams, track progress, and ensure timely completion of tasks
Providing solutions and insights that support decision-making for outcomes
Support development of future business cases
Support the future operating model design, including the finance processes relating to future state

Please note the internal title for this role is Finance Workstream LeadHe kōrero mōu: About youThis role requires strong and demonstratable experience in project management, the ability to work collaboratively and at pace to drive financial outcomes, including assessing and evaluating financial data and objectively presenting options and results.You will be considered a senior member of the team and therefore have a proven background in operating at a senior level and engaging with stakeholders at an executive level with influence and confidence.You will have experience in finance, accounting or other business-related area.
