We are seeking a Customer Service Coordinator to be the welcoming face and voice of our Timaru Centre. This is a permanent, full-time role (Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30am - 5:00pm).
This role is central to ensuring positive experiences for our community, volunteers, fosterers, and adopters, while supporting the smooth operation of the Centre. You will:
- Provide exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and digitally.
- Manage reception and administration tasks to keep the Centre running efficiently.
- Support animal adoptions by matching the right animals with the right people.
- Coordinate and support our volunteer and foster networks, including recruitment, induction, training, rostering and retention.
- Schedule foster pick-ups, returns, and ambulance calls to support animal flow.
- Ensure accurate data entry and compliance with processes and policies.
- Promote SPCA's values and mission by engaging positively with the public and local community.
You are customer-focused, organised, and passionate about making a difference for both people and animals. You will bring:
- Proven customer service experience (animal-related experience preferred).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with empathy and resilience.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
- Confidence using databases, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy and dynamic environment.
- Experience supporting or coordinating volunteers (preferred).
- An understanding of animal welfare and handling (advantageous).
