About us:At BestStart, we're leaders in the early childhood sector, we make a difference and we love what we do. We provide high-quality early education and award-winning childcare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. BestStart Paerata Rise is seeking a passionate and dedicated cook to join our energetic and tight-knit team. Our focus is to provide quality education and care to the children in our community.We are a new centre in the heart of a beautiful new subdivision. We have a licence for 100 children but currently 50% occupied, the centre is growing very fast with lots of new families moving to the area. We need a cook who can prepare healthy meals for the children, complete compliance paperwork, Menu creating with support if needed, build good relationships with families to understand their child's food needs, organised as this is a busy role.This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week.Our benefits include:

About the Role:If you have a passion for providing meals for young children, we want to hear from you! We are searching for someone who can provide fresh, nutritious and delicious meals for our children each day. As our Centre Cook you will plan, prepare and cook an appetising and culturally varied menu for the children, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea. You'll need to be efficient with your time and have an excellent knowledge of foods that promote good nutrition and healthy eating for our children.Role requirements:Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence.We are looking for the following:
  • Knowledge around health and safety in the kitchen and set high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
  • A passion for cooking and baking
  • An understanding of allergies and dietary requirements
  • Be computer literate in order to design menus and place orders each week
  • The ability to remain within the budgets for ordering food
  • A passion for promoting healthy eating for young children
