With strong values and a whānau-first approach, we work alongside individuals, families, and communities to support them to thrive.He kōrero mō te tūranga | The RoleCreative works, contracted by the Ministry of Social Development, assists individuals with disabilities in finding and maintaining employment.In this role, you'll build strong relationships to understand whānau work preferences and goals, support their return to work, and help with planning and problem-solving.You will work with your team to meet targets for getting people into jobs and helping them stay employed. This role focuses on supporting individuals who are experiencing mental illness.Duties of the role include, but not limited to:
- Help clients prepare for, find, and keep jobs, with support for up to 12 months or longer.
- Create tailored employment plans based on strengths, skills, barriers, and goals.
- Follow MSD rules for eligibility, service levels, and reporting using the Services Outcomes Reporting Tool (SORT).
- Build strong relationships and advocate for clients with employers and agencies.
- Promote inclusive hiring, work with health professionals, and take part in employment support events.
- Ideally, you will have knowledge or prior training in Individual Placement and Support.
- Have experience working in mental health settings (NGO or other) and are confident working alongside clinical teams.
- You have a calm and approachable manner that helps whānau feel comfortable.
- You are motivated to meet targets and achieve positive outcomes for whānau.
- You can work independently while staying connected with your colleagues.
- Your commitment to whānau will help you exceed team goals.
- Experience in job coaching or work placement is preferred but not essential.
- You must hold a full New Zealand driver's licence and be eligible to work in New Zealand.
- A competitive salary range: $62,026.64 - $69,952.38 (depending on experience).
