Train, educate and mentor nurses in palliative care in both IPU and community settings. Part time role working as within education team.This role is not suitable for CAP Graduates due to the local knowledge required to train others.About the Role:
Join this community organisation as a Clinical Nurse Educator specializing in Palliative Care. Overseeing nursing development both In Patient and Community settings, you can make a significant impact through education and support.
  • Work 3 days a week across Monday to Friday
  • Travel within the community
Key Responsibilities:
  • Education Leadership: Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff in both inpatient and community palliative care.
  • Clinical Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to nurses, ensuring best practices in palliative care delivery and PDRP support.
  • Resource Development: Create educational materials and resources tailored to the unique needs of palliative care settings.
  • Quality Improvement: Collaborate with teams to implement evidence-based practices and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Community Engagement: Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote awareness and understanding of palliative care principles.

Qualifications:
  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC and Post Grad qualifications
  • Advanced clinical skills and palliative care experience
  • Experience in clinical or adult education or staff development preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Passion for improving palliative care delivery in diverse settings
