
Response & Recovery Electrician

- Respond quickly and effectively to electrical faults across our fleet to minimise service disruptions.
- Perform real-time diagnostics and electrical repairs on vessels under time pressure and with limited access.
- Apply expertise across power distribution, propulsion, navigation, HVAC, alarms, and more.
- Contribute to smarter preventative and predictive maintenance strategies using data insights and condition monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with vessel crews, engineers, and shift teams to maintain operational continuity.
- Support a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
- Work on a 4-on / 4-off roster covering early morning to late-night operational hours (05:30–23:30).
- A recognised NZ trade qualification as a Maintenance Electrician or Engineer (NZQA/NZCE or equivalent)
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic expertise—especially in time-critical situations
- Confidence in assessing operational risks and making informed, real-time decisions
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to adapt and prioritise in a dynamic environment
- Clear and effective communication skills, especially when translating technical issues to non-technical teams
- Experience working in marine, transport, or other high-availability operational environments
- Familiarity with systems such as PLCs, propulsion control, battery storage, or vessel monitoring
- Knowledge of condition monitoring tools and predictive maintenance technologies
- Experience in shift-based or 24/7 operations, ideally in a fast-paced setting
